For those of you who have built schools, is it worth the investment? Do you get better access to good young players than you would if you just used your scout? Editado por jt4prez 05-03-2011 21:12 |

School : wait too long just to get only 1 player at a time , cost too much for country like Brazil or Germany , player come out randomly and average depends on the quality of the school . Scout : you're the 1 that control the searching and you can find young player with high average , it's cheaper than build school , if you have a good Scout he can find youth player that doesn't have a team so you'll be able to sign him for free with high average If you like to build school i suggest you to build 1 in Portugal, Uruguay and Sweden |

If you use the scout you won't find good players, cause the good players are usually renewed (R) and the ones that the scout can find are not good players... The main advantage of school is that you know player's progression and you get players for free by paying a little money for school maintenance. | 06/03/2011 13:44 |

I've been able to find, using my scout, approx. 5 players who are in the mid-30's in terms of their skill level, with all of them being below 17 yrs of age. I have also been able to sign them for only the cost of their contract as they had not been signed by a team previously. If I, for instance, build an excellent quality school in Uruguay would I be able to sign better players than the ones my scout has been able to find for me? | 06/03/2011 19:12 |

I'm sure about that , remember the Schools is only train youth so you may concern for your Senior team better. Using Scout and Coach secretary to find players with high average + young + low release clause is another smart choice . Scout can give you a list of both youth and senior players so i think Scout is better than schools | 07/03/2011 00:39 |

In schools all the players have 14 or 15 years, less age than the players that the scout finds. You've got to know that the free youths will disappear gradually... they are not infinites and when this happens the only way to get free players is having a school. But the choice is yours. | 07/03/2011 11:22 |

I've been thinking about schools a bit of late and have decided that the big schools (Brazil, Germany etc) at "Excellent" level are probably only going to be viable once teams start hitting division 2 or 1. They just aren't financially viable at the moment, mostly because of their weekly maintenance costs. For example, a four star Mexican school of excellent quality will cost you $65 million plus about $1.2 million per week in maintenance. A Mexican school produces 1 player every week. After 11 weeks you would have a full team of high quality players (if you are lucky...but the odds suggest that you are going to get some duds...plus, you can't pick what position they play!) and each player will have cost $2.2 million to produce. You have to ask yourself, if you had to sell one of these youth players, are you going to be able to sell them for more than $2.2 million dollars to cover your costs? If you invest in an excellent school too soon then you may run your team too far into debt. |

You all make excellent points, there is pro's and cons for both options which makes it subjective and exciting. I would say tho that once you have an excellent school it is a long term investment because you will keep getting players, so your cost per player comes down to your maintenance cost only. If your school graduate is a 14 yr CF for example with 80+ progression after quality training this one player will pay for your entire school with profit when he is say a 22 yr old 65-70 selling for $80 mill Edited by GunnerNic 29-04-2011 17:31 |
