I was just browsing the market for junior goalkeepers and noticed a few on there starting at £0. As I have NO junior GK, I decided to get involved with all three as potential free transfers. Two went ok adding a bid of £0 to the auction but one of them, a Russian named Galimzian Nikitin from Houston Rockets gave me an error screen saying that the player is not being auctioned.... Strange but I thought perhaps he had been taken off the market just before I bid, that was until I returned home and saw a message from my Coach Secretary telling me that I had signed the GK for £786,752!! Now I am pretty certain that I have not pressed the wrong button here as there wasn't even a direct buy option on that particular player so how has this happened? I would not have just jumped in and signed the player for such a fee. Even if I had pressed on a direct buy, I don't think that would lead to a message stating that the player was not being auctioned, would it? Edited by MikLSP 15-06-2011 18:37 |

It looks like you did use the 'Direct Buy' option as the player shows in your Transfer History as a Direct Purchase. As for the message that showed up, better message an admin about it. |

Yes I can see that in my history but I am positive that I did not click a direct buy button. So I am correct in thinking that no message along the lines of the player not being available in auction should be seen when you do make a direct buy? Also is there a confirmation screen on direct buys or do they just complete with one click? Cheers |

As far as I'm aware no message shows up regarding the player not being available for auction. Did you add the player to your shortlist or put the offer in straight from the market? They complete with one click, unless the player requires a higher salary or more years, but if they agree to the 1st offer they go straight to your squad. I cant remember getting any confirmation screens, just the same as bidding on a player. |

I put the bid in straight from the market, I have successfully done the same on three other GKs now and each time it simply shows me on the bidding list. Perhaps the player was changed to a direct buy while I was looking at him causing an error whereby I clicked to send a bid which was not possible and instead it became a direct buy I have messaged @internat to see if the Admins can shed any light on the matter. |

Nope, not direct buy,u didnt bid either,u went to hire...on that page the preset price of the player is 10 times lower than his release clause,by pressing 0,u raise the preset amount to the release clause level...thats wat happened. | 15/06/2011 19:50 |

Nas is probably spot on, the auction may have just concluded (then you do get that message btw) and the bid button gets replaced by a hire button, you may just have missed that. | 15/06/2011 20:03 |

If he bought the player by paying his release clause it would show in the transfer history as 'Hostile Clause', if he agreed a fee with the other manager it would show as 'Transfer Agreement' and with both these the player would not be transfered for 24 hours. But as it shows up as 'Direct Purchase' in the transfer history and he has the player already, it means it could only have been a 'Direct Buy'. |

@ Nasregas Thanks for telling me what I did, lol I can see you thinking, however, I can confirm that I reached this player via the market at the same time as placing similar bids on two other GKs and later on a third. I did not go through the squad > player > hire route. The transfer does show as a direct purchase in the history and he is in my Junior squad now. I also notice from the player's history that he was signed by Houston Rockets for £0 just 10 hours earlier apparently through a hostile clause. A hostile clause of £0 is that possible? |
