This weekend was the toughest yet for the Gecko's band of scaly 4ll41-ers. Facing up to the 1st (Navenby Gunners) and 4th (FC Savlje) teams in Intl 55 was never gunner be easy. However, things went from bad to worse as first a horrendous miscalculation by the over-optimistic manager led to key GK Holger Meier being hostiled just before the first game, then the team chef was stolen away by the Demons from Razgriz! This well-known cog in the shady Intl 55 wheel was thought to have been bribed to do so, with AC STL offering the services of their own chef for the weekend. All seemed well and good with the tradional pre-match vindaloo and gecko-vodka, but 15minutes in, several of the players collapsed on the pitch, every little hair on their gecko toes curled up in agony. Fast-forward 24hours and after salvaging a 2-2 draw on the saturday, with the chef fired, the pre-match blood oranges would have to do. Once again, the invisible spymaster managed to spike the blood oranges with real blood, causing the two vegan CF "lady-dees" to be so revolted that they absolutely refused to shoot towards goal. Slightly mollified by a mountain of half-time lettuce, once again 4ll41 clawed their way back to 2-2. A disappointing 2/6 points, but even more seriously, surely Horath, league owner (and manager of FC Savlje) will be investigating these suspicious incidents? Or does he know the culprit already...
