There is no "best" formation. All formations have their ups and downs and will vary on its performance from game to game. That one formation where it got you 5 goals may not work on the next one as the tactics of the opposing manager may counter yours. The way I see it, play with a formation that utilize the full potential of your squad. Next, play with the style you want whether it be a offensive, balanced, or defensive one. Lastly, study your opponent and adjust your formation in order counter his. +100 Same thing goes for tactics, a fast defense would be good for going man to man, but is useless if the opposing offense is faster. This is where those of us with experience in the sport have a slight advantage, but where others will catch up in a heartbeat. If you notice player ratings in game take a sharp decline, it is not because they are playing bad, rather you are not playing them to the best of their ability. But take this into consideration- Throughout an entire game my 47 CDF played a marvelous game and often covered 2 people at once, final rating was 36 for reasons unknown, so do not read into the ratings too much. |

That is what we are trying to tell you. The new sim doesn't work the same way the old one did at all. There isn't one way your team should play any longer. You need to look at your players and your opponent and mold your formation and tactics to them. Because of the nature of the simulator now there isn't one way to play any longer. | 21/09/2011 12:00 |
