Maybe it's just because the training system is still messed up this week, but i've been trying to figure out what influence training has on individual stats like Speed or Finishing. From what i can tell, there is absolutely no effect on those numbers, which would make me sad as some of the new juniors i've seen are below 10% on just about everything.

Has anyone done any quantitative work on figuring out what the new trainings do to the player stats? Have the devs released any information that would help give us a clue as to which trainings help which stats?

Now that we have the simulator, we can actually see what kind of impact those numbers have on the game, and it would be nice to know what sort of control we have over them.

This is impossible, given that the training has never worked.

So it is just because training is still messed up.

Have we received any word about how training is supposed to work once it is all fixed up? 24/09/2011 03:05

No. The developers will send an update when it is ready, just like they have done with other major changes 24/09/2011 03:08

That does seem to be the standard Modus Operandai.

Well, if we don't like it, there are alternatives, but i get the feeling most of us will stick around, even if just to see how it all works out.

Yes it is .

The truth is, they have some serious challenges to work out. With the last sim, forecast was calculated from progression plus stats imbalances. For instance, midfielders with relatively low charisma and higher attributes had higher forecast because they could train higher with organize midfielders. When they converted all the players, instead of preserving these imbalances, which would have preserved forecast, they realized it would take (I'm guessing) at least 3 days of calculating to get the right imbalances with the new training regimen so that forecast is preserved. Not to mention even reverse engineering these imbalances correctly is very difficult, so it's not too surprising that we haven't heard anything yet. So, instead they just split up attributes evenly, as in all RIMs with average 50 have the exact same stats.

Besides, the developers have a very good feel for what is going to be fun, you'll like what they do, I'm pretty confident of that. It may not quite work on the first try, but it will get there .

Short answer: they're not telling us how it will work because they don't know yet how it will work.
