I think this is a great idea. I would be wiling to help out wherever i can. I'm no economist, but i'm pretty good with a spreadsheet, and have been keeping careful record of a lot of different aspects of my team since the beginning of last season. 10/10/2011 19:35

Ok, I recently noticed that there are certain trends in the transfer market, and they've always fascinated me.

Why is a 40/19 IM worth 1.8 Million one week,

worth 2.8 Million the next,

and then barely fetching a million another week?

How much are players worth, and how much does this differ?

What about the cost/benefit analysis of buying players vs. upgrading the stadium?

etc.etc.etc.

To cut to the chase, this REALLY fascinates me, and I want to write a small (maybe large) piece on the Economics of Striker Manager...

What does everyone think?

I also think I'd need a lot of help from people to make it happen too!

law of supply and demand it every economist know

I was tracking prices in youth and senior market at least 2 or 3 times per day for the last 4 or 5 weeks of the season. I stopped once they added the comparative analysis on players as it answered my basic questions about what players were going for in general. I have been playing with some compound interest calculations by using the bank with a good financial manager. Figure that I dont have much of a chance to compete at highest level, but can use this as an economics experiment to what running a profitable sports organization might look like. Would like to see others theories. 11/10/2011 07:07
