Hey admin hows tricks? firstly let me thank you for this great game i love it and have shared it with friends. Can i ask that you take a wee look at my last game as there seams to be a slight hitch when it comes to offsides. In particular in this game i think that within a 2 minute period i was called offside directly after the opposition had taken a free kick in their own half straight to either their player or mine!! I know its hard to keep track on these things and understand the difficulty in updating systems though i would appreciate it if you had a look. If you can let me know how to post the actual footage i will thanks for your time 12/11/2011 12:33

FIFA rules:

"Regardless of position, there is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from a corner kick, goal kick, or throw-in. However, an offside offence may occur if a player receives the ball directly from either a direct free kick or an indirect free kick."

turns out your guys were both offside. I didn't even know this

my source is wikipedia's article on offside.

This also means that the first goal scored from an offside position off of a goal kick by Germany in the 2010 world cup against England was not a referee error, but in fact a commentator error. The things you learn!

The key word in the original post was that the direct kick came from a defensive player, not his offensive teammate. With that said, it is not offsides. This has happened to me several times and even on a throw in.

I've heard it happens on throw ins on this game, but these were offside.

I was victimized today by serious offside trap.

Bad positioning on my part.
