I ask this because somebody recently posted that crossing the ball was one of the things they exclusively train. I never even bothered to train that because I thought it was useless in this game and just found out that it is actually a pretty awesome training that hits multiple areas. | 01/12/2011 07:22 |

Absolutely. But I feel like there are some trainings that don't help but I am not sure because I haven't actually tried them. Like is the aerial ball training actually useful? |

From my experience the most useful ones are running, tackling, in-depth passing, and sprint. That's just my opinion, however. | 02/12/2011 05:06 |

Here's the thing: they are all useful. Unlike last season where some were just crap, each one trains *something* this season. For instance, corner kicks trains leadership exclusively for LW/RW LB/RB, which is a good thing for captains and a great thing for penalty takers. Higher leadership = more accurate penalties and free kicks. Crossing the ball does not train very much but trains many stats. If you're trying to get passing up for forwards, it's essential because nothing else trains that attribute for forwards. For midfielders, you're better off with in-depth passing for that attribute. Basically, if you're training an offensive player, you'll want high finishing, dribbling, speed, passing, leadership. Not necessarily in that order. Defensive players will want attributes like aggression, speed, ball steal, strength, leadership. Again, not necessarily in that order. It just depends on your strategy, as sanyam said. I'm currently training his CF on loan and making him a speed demon, so that will fit in with his defensive strategy nicely . Funny since we didn't talk about it at all. |

But don't you usually pick the guy with the most experience points to be the captain? Does leadership affect the captain's performance at all? | 04/12/2011 08:47 |

I don't think leadership has impact on captain position. I have a rf who has 70 leadership, and he's rated as a 0 In captain. Also I think forwards finishing stat has to do with there free kick/penaltp rating. I really don't know what training leadership in an offensive player does. |
