Hi all,
I have worked through the FAQ's and am a bit confused about progression. This is a number that is not shown on any screen as far as I can see. So how would you calculate or findout your players progression. The other thing is that I don't quite understand what it means. Is this the maximum average your player will ever reach. For instance: I have a player in a school with 45% progression, does this mean that the maximum I will ever expect this player to reach is an average of 45%?

The only place you can see progression is when they are in school, after that its more guesswork.
Forecast is the maximum average the player can achieve. You pay 10GB to view it
Progression is how fast it will get there. The higher the number the better
for example: i have 3 juniors, all around the same progression (76, 78, 81, I worked these out from the training and forecast) the training for penalties was 0.418, 0.445 and 0.499 respectively
hope i helped

Thanks. So progression is the rate that they will increase. So a 45% youngster with say 25 avg 15 years old can reach above 50 avg or is this just not going to happen. 29/12/2011 14:12

It depends what his forecast is, if its 60, then yes, if you train him, if its 40 then no 29/12/2011 14:14

But the forecast will depend on the progression surely. From what I understand there is no real way to work it out anymore. All linear algebra I forgot in school. So this progression should indicate whether the player is worth keeping. Which is a good question, when do you promote the player from the School. Will a player's progression improve in the school if you leave him there a while? 29/12/2011 14:17

Players don't increase neither in average nor in progression in school. They only increase 1 year in age at the end of the season.

Theoretically, progression has nothing to do with forecast. But in practice, high progression players have high forecasts.

Forecast is the highest avg the player will reach (considering the conditions surrounding him, i.e. your youth coach). Progression is the rate of his improvement. For example, say you have two players that have the same forecast 60. But one of them (A) has a progression of 25% and the other (B) of 50%. Player B will reach his forecast value in half the time need by player A, under the same coach and training regime. So if player A trains for 2 seasons to reach that value, player B will reach it in 1 season.

Hope that helps.

Super. Makes more sense now. the problem is, is that you don't know either when buying a player. So what are tell tell sign's of either good or bad player? 29/12/2011 15:21

Their gains from training.

Forecast and progression are a very similar number when a player is created btw.

Hey Grantis, that's exactly what has been confusing me. I think in the forums it often comes across that these are interchangeable. 29/12/2011 16:44

If you have GBs then you can set your coach sect to search for players with what ever minimum % progression you search..

For example you pay 50GB to search for players with 75% or above progression.. this means you don't know how much progression they have but at least you know its going to be no lower than 75%
