Would you want to see manager consolidation

Not sure home many SM Managers are out there but would it not be a good idea to somehow consolidate the players into a more compact grouping. From what I see there are tons of bot teams so wouldn't it be better to regroup everyone into player leagues without the bots or does this happen at the beginning of each season? I mean if there are for example 100 players in div 5 why not fill up the first groups with the active players and then when the newer players come into it they can start filling the next places? Trouble is you don't give people a chance to build competitive teams. I am in a group with maybe 5 human players, those humans appear quiet weak. If they were not given a chance to develop for 2-3 seasons, they wouldn't stand a chance. | 29/12/2011 14:33 |

This is my point though. You have 5 human players in your group and another also has 5. Would it not be a good idea to lob everyone together in the first few groups and have some proper competition? | 29/12/2011 15:24 |

No, humans playing vs other humans with equally crap teams will lead to random results. You are better off honing your skills vs bots and meeting your fellow humans in div 4-5. |

I that case would hte batch of fire against other humans not be a better training. Rather that having 7 div get it down to 5 and let the battles commence. The newbies will still languish in the bottom and learn. But at least they would be learning against fellow humans. I somehow managed to get promoted with a team of very very average players. Old men and youngsters with no high averages. I just happened to come across the a tactic that won me matches. I would much rather work on tactics against cunning humans than programmed bots. A bot does not adapt to the situation so once you learn how to "game" the system you will move up. I agree that you need to learn but that there are so many leagues does not make much sense to me either. | 29/12/2011 16:41 |

I don't think so. My first game is against a bot team that appears to have been owned by a good player, but get got relegated and thus ceased playing. Never the less, his team is far superior to mine, I am away, thus my plan is to defend for dear life. If I was up against 10 players of that caliber, despite all my hard work, good team and good stadium, I'd get my rear kicked every game. I agree the learning curve needs to increase over time, but that would make it so hard for newer players. They would have deal with being at the bottom season after season. I came second in my first season, I appear to have competitive team (I'm probably 2-3 best), I have a solid stadium income and a well skilled staff. All this was build in Div 7, had I been competing again humans, I doubt I would have finished second, nor would I have had the target of getting promoted, thus I probably would have lost interest. All in all I agree, the higher you go, the more humans you should have to compete against. | 29/12/2011 17:04 |

The problem with consolidating active people into the first couple of groups is that you mess up the whole league system. Each group is supposed to be fed by 4 lesser groups. You mess with that the further down the road you get and the whole system gets messed up. | 30/12/2011 02:10 |
