I think loan agreements should always be agreed via inbox messages.

At least then there's no confusion over who said what.

True Dee, but what if that someone reneges in their promise, how do you enforce it?

You don't loan to that person again. I'm sure not all teams get what they want out of each and every loan.

After a bad loan this season I'm going to be strict with my loans and ask to see prior players trained and really have a good look at the other managers junior squad to make sure they actually have players in the positions I'm loaning them. I may lose out on what could have been a good loan, but I'll also limit my mistakes. That's really all you can do, and you still aren't guaranteed not to be screwed, but you'll limit your chances if you look at each loan extensively. I think everyone seems to freak out at the start of the season and tries to get a loan ASAP and then they wind up screwing themselves with a bad loan.

Do you mean junior or senior loan? Because in junior loan, I think the manager taking the player is doing all the favour

in future i'm only loaning seniors to PL members.

newbies - please note, when you find the loan market for decent senior players is closed to you - you can blame the people who came before you and failed to fulfill their promised training pattern.

i've been thinking that maybe we need a call out thread where we can name and shame managers who do this.

I think a list of managers who did fine with loans may be better 15/08/2012 00:51

Gee, if only there was a multi division pl with a wide range of active members from division 2 - 6 with a fully integrated loan system with balanced training of positions giving priority to members.

Then you really wouldn't need to worry...

Junior. And I'm referring to loan swaps specifically, I'd never not swap since there's no motivation to train a JR without it. But since I know I'd properly train a junior I want to make sure the guy who I swap with is going to do the same

Well if you have the space and you're training that position anyway, there's no harm in putting a player in subs for the whole season and letting him tick over for someone
