Well, I think it's fairly obvious (to me), but for those of you who haven't figured it out:

There was a bug with GB searches. This restricted the supply of high prog juniors. This meant, that only a select few could auction these players, and everybody was competing to sign the same players.

Hence, the prices went up like crazy. This is why people were spending 100m+ on juniors, that were previously only worth 30 Million.

Now, this restriction in trade is being solved. Free searches to compensate us, and soon, the searches will go back to normal.

With this, the price will invariably drop back to the normal rates of 30 - 40 Million, and only 100m for the ultimate in rare players.

So the lesson to be learned?

Stop spending 100 Million + on juniors, when their prices will soon come down to normal!!!!!

Thank you Patient.

It is simply a case of supply and demand.

Demand has always remained at a steady place with high prog juniors.

But supply was seriously restricted over the past season or so.

We all thought it was due to the money in the game, that prices rose so much. (This was in part, true).

But it was also due to the Monopoly on high prog juniors that a few managers held. And many of us suspected that there was an issue with the searching.

As such, it is clear now, that prices will come down as supply is back to normal.

This is more as a message of guidance to everyone that it really isn't worth spending so much money on juniors now. The prices will either slowly come down, or they will come down a lot faster if people realise this.

It really is as simple as that

i don't observe the prices really down since i still see juniors going for crazy sums. yes some of them went for veryy cheap... but at the same time, i've seen some juniors going very expensive who were not even marketted by the seller, maybe he didn't know the fc or what, but free search+ has made everyone aware of high prog players on auction... i think the fact that a 14-15 yo will be sold only on auction has made some impact this season, since the supply has been more directed towards market and that makes them global, instead of close door agreements which kept high prog players restricted, again the supply concept 15/11/2012 10:38

I agree with moodey, we cannot predict what prices young players will go for because of the big change of auction only on 14-15 year olds, 15/11/2012 11:34

The market rate used to be around 30 Million.

Some were sold for more, off auction. Other were sold for less, off auction.

Not ALL buyers and sellers will be through auction.

This doesn't change anything with regards to cost. It will be market rate all the way through, with a balance between supply and demand.

If you see a 85+ prog and 90 FC CDF on auction, you MIGHT bid 100 Million.

But what if you see 3 more being auctioned in the space of 72 hours? Will you spend that money? Or will you have a go on the other, similar players?

Supply is returning to normal, and this is very much a realistic prospect.

I see your point, the values will go down once people have the players they want, I am just about full on juniors so that removes me from future auctions so one less bid should = cheaper price 15/11/2012 11:41

Yeah, that's another point. It will also have an effect.
