How is it that people keep buying my players when I have not put them up for auction? My three best players have been bought out right under neath my nose. | 06/02/2013 02:51 |

The managers paid the release clauses for your players. Once you hit 8,000 experience points, you were opened up to "hostiling". You can avoid this buy raising the salaries of your senior players and resigning your junior players. A resigned junior player cannot be hostiled. A senior player can be hostiled at any time, but a higher salary will detract managers from purchasing your players. |

You've got to resign them and raise their release clauses, otherwise people are going to buy them from under your nose. You should always have a players hostile clause set at more than the player is worth. I have my players at about 1.5 times their purchase price, so if they sell I make money and I can buy a similar player. | 06/02/2013 03:23 |

The only way to jack up their release clause is to self inflate their salaries?? | 06/02/2013 17:01 |

Yes, only way is to make them unattractive. Or if you think you can replace cheaper, then dangle a carrot for people to hostile. | 06/02/2013 18:32 |

The game is flawed if that's the dynamics. Higher teams with more money can just steal whomever they want. What do you mean "set the desired release clause" - it seems to be generated automatically based on length of contract and salary. |

Yes its based on salary. But why would a division 2 team want your players, its usually only teams within your same division that would even try to take them. If you have a really good player pay him enough that its not worth anyones while to take him. It does work quite well. | 06/02/2013 19:29 |

What do you mean "set the desired release clause" - it seems to be generated automatically based on length of contract and salary. As Grantis said, it's based on salary. A good way to figure out what a players release clause should when you're not sure how high it should be is look at similar transactions (under the contract button) and see what the highest transaction for a player is and go above that for your release clause. That would almost guarantee you nobody would steal your player, and if they did then you'll probably be able to find another one with the same average for cheaper. Avoid outliers too though, sometimes someone might hostile a player for way more than they're worth because they don't know what they're doing, or a player might sell for a lot of money because they have really good forecast/prog. If you see a super high price you can probably ignore it, but take a good look at what the average selling price for a player is and match that or more. Finally, keep in mind that if you have a player that improves with training, then you're going to want to keep an eye on their clause. A player might be worth just 2 million at 40 average, but 10 million at 50 average, so if you train them up, sure you'll make a profit, but you'll lose the time you invested in the guy. |
