In fact you should always be fine tuning your tactics since every opponent is different. to be honest cmc, i find the fine-tuning/set-up side of things usually translates pretty well across sim versions. it's in the formation build itself where i account for any weaknesses / strengths caused by a sim update. my formation changes pretty much every match. my tactic setup changes very rarely & then only in very small increments. |

LM-CF(as LF)-OM(as CF)-RF-RIM 0% center attack , counter attack style, more roaming position, very fluid passing, less creative freedom. no mids support but use 2 DFMs with very high yellow (mid) bar |

I have very strong strikers and mids and so I use my LIM/RIM as playmaker/striker/advanced defenders supporting LW or LF, CF and RW. LW/RW are inferior to LF/RF of the same quality if you want to use them as goal scorers. They train up speed and dribbling much faster than other stats, and I find them very effective in converting to attack from defense especially against a high OT. CF is useless until they have at least 2 skills and speed above 90 and technique above 85. They are scoring machines if they can get within range without being shut down. LF/RF are also very good at scoring mainly because most teams don't defend against them well when they come in on the edge of the box. When I didn't have good strikers I used my LIM/RIM as combined LF and LW, RF and RW. This works well if you can generate twice as many shots as your opponent and especially if they have triple net breaker. The main thing is to use the best of what you have |

@CelloG, thank you for the input. It's a very different environment here in Div5. Players in Div5 are much slower so quick passing is more worthwhile (in my opinion). There is much more space to play into and there isn't that much reliance on strong defensive crowding. In the higher divisions more managers tend to compress the play as far as I've seen. What I find really good about LW/RW are their versatility. They can dribble, pass, and even tackle which makes them pretty useful. If anything, their true worth is what you said, the ability to convert defense to attack especially against high OT. LF/RF on the other hand, when on shooting from the sides, I've seen them score more often. Probably their sweet spot? I am very entertained by the LIM/RIM as strikers idea. Does anyone employ such a position that I can learn from?  |
