In Beta mode the players doesn´t get injured and they don´t spend stamine too, but they don´t gain experience neither.
To compete in this game, you need more than just high average, that's skills.
If you play in Beta mode, you are missing the opportunity to increase skills for your players, specially attacking players because the goals.
Take a look at good teams playing at top divisions so you can find out how skills are so important.
