The unsung heroes of this surprise season has been the Stonepost United Youth Squad. With one loss and two draws in 14 games, they lead arch-rivals Ferroviarios F.C. by six points, having played a game more. Manager Stundek says that investment in the Youth Squad will reap benefits for Stonepost overall: "I felt from the beginning of this club that a solid youth squad who are determined to improve and play for what I feel will become one of the best football teams deserve to be invested in well. We need to invest in the seniors, and having a strong youth structure for the future will certainly contribute to that. They are the backbone of this squad." And Stundek has also added Argentinian left-forward Luis Fabián Orlandini from 4th division MDFC as of today. Said manager Stundek of the acquisition: "That was a fine capture for us. He's only 15, we got him for good money, and he'll only mature as he grows and develops with us." In other Youth news, the Australian academy is due to release the next youth player tomorrow, and Stundek can't wait to see what's in store: "The more Australians the better. If they fit the structure of the squad, and are willing to develop, then we'll take them on. We'll see come what may." Stonepost United meet Hicham F.C on Friday. |

I wanted to have a historical account of what happened when, rather than - my team just played a game, that's it. I also wanted to keep track of opposing players, that sort of thing. Stonepost United today announced the signing of Australian right-forward Lote Stodder to the Youth Squad. Manager Stundek couldn't contain his delight: "We have invested well in the Australian Youth Development, and now, we're seeing the dividends of that, with Richard Lever and Wilson Hasler already performing well in our team. This will add another dimension, and I'm sure the lad (Stodder) will develop into a fine striker for us". Stonepost are away to Hicham F.C. and Stundek is keen to capitalize on United's position at the top of the league. In a surprise move, Australian Youth pair Richard Lever (outside midfield) and Lote Strodder (right forward) will start today against CHIANGMAI UNITED as Stonepost United travel to the Team 11283 Arena in Chiang Mai Thailand for their Div.6/Grp.309 clash. Manager Stundek explains the decision: "I've been following these two closely, and these are the players of Stonepost's future. I feel they are good enough to be in the first team, and they will only strengthen as time marches on. I'm going to give them a go, and I will have Ryan Wright and Chris Earl on back-up for insurance." With the average age of the current squad only 24 years, Manager Stundek is looking to go even lower as he builds for the future: "we have many strengths in this squad already, but the youth is one thing I'm definitely focused on; we have players that have pledged their allegiance to this club, and if they prove themselves, I'm going to reward them by representing us in the senior team. It's as simple as that. I want a Giggs, a Beckham, a Scholes, a Solskjær. I want that type of exciting player that will continue to sustain and build on the success of what is proving to be a fine football club."
