http://uk.strikermanager.com/partido.php?id=5393595 I believe this could qualify as a one of the biggest upsets ever. I am a Div. 7 team with an average performance from my players of around 24. My players' average was around 30.The team I beat was a Div. 4 team with an average performance from his players of around 50. His players' average was around 52. I have no idea how this happened, because I was anticipating a defeat, but a wins a win. The surprising thing is that 3-0 victory against a much better team is ridiculous. I'm kind of stunned by this victory and wonder if the game screwed something up with the stats for my players... Just curious. What do you guys think? |

billyo11 said: WOW your the best Well I guess thats what you want to here by posting this with your added concern about a bug in the system for good measure. nice one My just playing all your players above the half way circle in his half in all your games just shows your fear of trying to play and compete with teams.Even in your league games its the same. Enjoy the game and well done I actually was not looking to here "your the best." I was just showing how much offside trap can be taken advantage of in Striker Manager. There is no reason to not play this way, though. I mean like honestly. You want to play this game by playing your defenders on your 18 the whole game and see how that works? Especially against such a good team like that? Didn't think so. |

Especially against such a good team like that? Didn't think so. If you play against people who don't know about tactics and the offside trap then you will beat them. It's a good tactic just as it is in real life. However as you move up the leagues then it won't work so well. Play it against me and I'll have 40 shots. |

Yes, I understand that. But as you know, I am still in Div. 7. The offsides trap works well for me right now based on who my opponent is, so I am going to stick with it right now. I understand that it is not a good tactic with higher level teams in Striker Manager as well as with some situations in real life, but it can work well in the lower leagues. | 04/03/2012 18:00 |

I agree it's an amazing tactic. I think there are plans afoot to nerf it a bit. I still play some form of it even now, although not to the same degree. I'll probably need to drop it entirely in division 2. But if it didn't exist, then you could park 2 CF in the opposition box and just punt the ball up again and again. I think the main problem is that the default formations don't have an offside trap of any kind built in. |

I did play a 3-3-4 with a RW, CF, and LW for a while. That worked quite well, because as the ball got further and further into the opposition's half I pulled the LW and RW in to form a 3 "pronged," if you will, attack. Anytime the ball would get to the middle, my LW, CF, and RW would surround the ball and tackle, usually ending in a shot at least. | 04/03/2012 18:26 |
