*Unfair distribution of home matches - This is not unfair. You are randomly drawn into the bucket, indicating that there are perfectly equal chances of you drawing more, less, or none. If you get less, then you are unlucky. If you are a div 7 team with no home games, you are probably lucky. If you are div 7 team against me and I'm at home you are extremely fortunate. It's a standard approach, and no one has a greater chance than anyone else. It is a game of luck pure and simple. And where something is 100% luck, then it is has nothing to do with fair or unfair. * Hard to find the cup tree (you have to go via Results->Striker Cup). This makes it less predictable for those who do not find it. Putting up a 65000+ team bracket is impossible. All that matters is the next few games anyway at the beginning. AND if you look at this thread "IMPORTANT LINKS" the first link is.... the striker cup bracket.... wow. * Unfair ticket income possibilities (lower division teams do not earn more(?), at least not significantly more, when they face a high division team, while high division teams always earn about the same. let me disprove this now: http://uk.strikermanager.com/partido.php?id=6341669 My earnings: 148k A normal home game for me: 17M A normal home cup game for me: 8M (another 8M to my opponent) * No relation to the ranking system, which could have been used for seeding Ranking system is unreliable and has more to do with longevity in game than with power. This is an unseeded tournament. And there is nothing wrong with an unseeded format. This format is actually a disadvantage to the better clubs, which may have to face each other earlier... * Long-term consequences of being relegated early. For example, when I was knocked out early in the cup last season (by a higher division team) I lost 7 places in the ranking and a significant number of fans, compared to similar-ranked teams. See previous statement. I am ranked 55. but really, would you consider me 55th ranked club? At the beginning of the season, I was ranked 100 or thereabouts. Fans <> supporters. 7 places in the ranking is not going to cost you significant income. losing a few supporters won't either... you can make them up in ticket sales pretty easily. Also, if i'm to understand this correctly, you want the ranking system to be used to seed teams, but immediately afterward, complain the ranking system is flawed??? wow. There really is no satisfying some people. * No glory. Perhaps partly because it is so hard to find the cup tree, there is no prestige and glory about the cup. Hmm, this one is tricky to explain. More a feeling. This comes from your own feeling of self importance... If you think there is no prestige to winning the cup, you are sorely mistaken. There is no prestige to winning an early round cup game... But ask Cule about prestige concerning the cup. Also..if you'd just look at the first link in important links and maybe check out the stickies at the top of the forums....you might discover something about yourself, your future, and the cup. Some of these things you say argue that the current system is a disadvantage to lesser clubs. others argue that it is a disadvantage to higher clubs. How can both sides be hurt at the same time??? If one side is having a disadvantage, then the other side must be doing better off... If both sides are hindered in some respect, then it seems pretty "fair" So, is that cogent enough argumentation? Is that more indicative of my @ status? Are you happy with my response now? So, to boil it down, the current cup serves as a disadvantage to ALL clubs. It's not public enough, even though it's a button in the results section and it's the first link in the important links sticky in the general forum. There's no glory in it, but it weighs too heavily on a flawed ranking system. AND this flawed ranking system should be used to seed a tournament bracket in which there needs to be some unknown (but better) way to give everyone more money. Have I got all the points? |
