I realize that managers have a bias to their team and players, but to what extent do you allow that bias to over rule your common sense? I am looking through the market and the market forum and realize that people are absolutely crazy with starting prices. When is a +25 y/o be worth over 80M when the player is only a 60 avg? Then I look at youth players. I am struggling to farm GKs in a way to get them good training results at -30 avg, but it is great to throw that FC 90+ as the name and that will get you 50M. Is this the struggle by which everyone is complaining about the economy in the game? If it is, then I see why. The only way to stop it, is to stop paying the high beginning prices and see where the auction takes you. Disclaimer- I know that there is a manager that is working very hard on the study of the economics in the game and I do not want to step on their toes. I guess this is just a rant! |

Whose the manager working diligently, Id like to talk to him. There are measures that have been in place to control the flow, its just that some players are rarer than others season to season. Also, Some people will ask crazy amounts of money, plain and simple..lol. I saw recently a similar situation where a manager bought a player for 9mil and trained them two seasons from 54avg to 64 and was asking a price that would create a little over 8 times profit. The game has always been a "free market" so to speak, but eventually like all markets you will see crests and troughs. Right now we are troughting? ( is that a word) a bit down the road the trough will break and start to peak upwards again, provided user activity increases and something new is injected keeping the game going. So, Dont let prices fool you. People will always try to get more bang for the buck. Just be a smart manager and either use auction or simply PM a manager. Edited by cmccourt 13-10-2012 02:11 |

don't go for players who are over the market prices in auction, i know few manager always wants to sell over the market price, some of them even put there entire team on auction for crazy prices just to earn stupid profit... sadly its all legal in this game, and though its annoying to see, there's no way to stop it, only thing you can do is avoid and avoid them every time you see them Edited by Adam Taylor 13-10-2012 19:41 |

They do it because there's almost always some gullible fool willing to pay ridiculous prices. I've had several players hostiled away in recent days, all for much more than I paid for them. You think I'm upset at the hostiles? No, because I know I can quickly return to the market to find a lower-priced replacement, and pocket the margin. Some players just like to throw around money in this game because they can. I wouldn't worry about it. There're always enough players at good prices to go around, if you're willing to look. |

Firstly, selling player at high starting prices is brilliant... For me cause I sell 'em cheap with a direct purchase price just in that sweet spot people feel is just right LOL Market is simple just as it is in real life. High and low, look for the bargain, the desperate manager, the quick sale, the greedy manager. Every sale has a story. Myself, if I'm selling it's generally cause I don't need the player and he may or may not be brilliant future investment We have all kinds here and see the market in that way. We are all different people so don't expect rationale to prevail, as long as it's legal as Eam says no harm but use that noggen and find the deals out there. |

I think the best solution could be having rule saying that the players can only be transferred during a transfer window. This transfer windows can be at the first two weeks and last two weeks of the season. I strongly believe this will reduce the "expensive transfer". The drawback of this will be for those who train and sell players. | 13/10/2012 19:44 |

Division 1 stadiums bring in as much as $25m per game. Div 1 teams probably pull down more than $100m per week. Forcing everyone to wait until four weeks at the end of the season to buy will only increase competition for players. Pair that with huge piles of cash horded over a full season, and prices will skyrocket. I think all this hysteria over prices is driven by very shallow ideas about how markets work. The solution to the price problem in this game is to leave it be, because there's no price problem. Edited by Anonymous01 13-10-2012 20:07 |

Hear hear... So true. Agree with your sentiments buddy. Sure we are currently in an inflationary period but every economy goes through this, there is no perfect model. Just use your smarts find a good and stuff the "greedy" manager until he realises he has to sell for cheaper in order to sell at all. Prices will come down in time but there are great deals out there... | 13/10/2012 20:22 |

There a plenty of straight up guys who are always willing to sell players for the right price. Find some managers who have B-squads. generally they will negotiate with you if the price is fair. fair int hat they make profit and you dont over pay. pricing is a skill. P.S Im also a fan of P.T Barnum and the coined phrase " sucker born every minute". every now and then you put a player up for ridiculous amounts of money and some poor sap buys him up. have to love natural selection. Is it right? eh maybe not ethically, but it sure does help in the long run. Edited by cmccourt 13-10-2012 20:49 |
