@practicesquad said: Just to give background to the reset idea. I play fifa ultimate team and it resets every season - everyone keeps coming back. Also my experience starting on 3 different servers is that I enjoy building from scratch the most and find the mechanics stale as the game progresses. I doubt it would ever happen, but I'd support it if it did P.s. I know many people don't like this idea, not trying to stoke the fire, just giving reason to my suggestion P.p.s I love you brezz Love you too prac even more than mp |

This game isn't popular because it's difficult to master. That's a feature, not a bug. This game has a niche following, and I think this game should attempt to be the best in this specific niche.. rather than "dumbed down" to appeal to more people. This game has the best simulation engine, the most involved player training scheme, and the most detailed tactic sim of any out there. People who reject this game in favor of something easier... are NOT the audience for this game. I, however, am the perfect target audience for this game: I am only attracted to games with intricate detail. As a side note, the only computer game I play is Hearts of Iron, the most detailed simulation of world war 2.. nothing else comes close. I've played every version of it. The detail-oriented gamer is a market... a small market, to be sure, but a market just the same. |

As for the frequent complaints about the same things, continual ranting about the dev's, it seems like it is a complaint searching for an audience. |

I'm sorry Vgates, what are you talking about? I'm not sure where this 'continual ranting about the dev's' agenda has come from. No one has discussed the developers. And do you really think posing questions and thoughts on a public gaming forum is really "searching for an audience", and in such a quiet forum? Seems like a strange concept to me and seems irrelevant and off topic. Or do you think this is why the game is less popular now? I'm sure as a 'Fiscal' you have many ideas on why people leave. | 10/02/2015 04:09 |

I think vgates is saying that there are many complaints about certain things in the game, but that these things though they make the game difficult, also make it fun for their target audience (presumably). So by virtue the complaints are about making the game fun for its audience (or, searching for an audience). For instance we get complaints that training is too slow. But for those that stick around this is part of the fun. That's just an example. Please correct me if I'm wrong vgates Edited by @practicesquad 10-02-2015 06:04 |

That's interest actually. I've always thought that training is slow in all football games, and rightly so (wouldn't want to end up with masses of highly rated Juniors now would we!!!!). Looking at it from their point of view I suppose they just want to be able to compete with those mid-league teams that are extraordinarily powerful compared to other football games. I'm sure the prospect of being stuck in a league for months on end is a daunting and off-putting task for some. Still, the good news for people playing this game is it isn't going to change to accommodate newcomers or casual gamers. Presumably that was the reason for the new game; to encourage future customers and retain them long-term. I actually find the new game more difficult than this one. It's much tougher to make money, and not adjusting the advanced tactics isn't so much of a hindrance as it is with this one so it makes casual gamers more competitive. One feature I've seen in lots of games, all genres, is the initial training section that walks you through some of the features. I can imagine just having a walk-through guide for advanced tactics would have helped out a lot of people. Edited by JensonJet 10-02-2015 07:49 |

There's a down side with every asserted positive. You can't "make it more competitive for n00bz" without also making the game less complex. That's a mathematical certainty - not something for the devs to "overcome." For the following example: Assume the people in group 1 are at difficulty level 100 and the day 1 player is at difficulty level 1. If the "help" that is accomplished in the FAQ as of today moves the n00b from 1 to 40, then the actual complexity of the game only has from levels 41-100 to operate. If you make the game "easier to master" - eg, jumping the n00b up to level 75 - then the entire rest of the game will only operate between levels 76 and 100! Whatever you move the new player to.. is the same place that everyone else gets moved to as well, and then the entire game only functions in the space between that help and having every player at 100. I hope that the FAQ/initial help does NOT actually help players much. If it does, that eliminates the ability of the people who actually care.. to see steady growth in their competency/results in the game. Sadly, the attempt to "make things better for newbs" will actually degrade the current user's experience on the basis simply of an asserted result [more people? more money?] which, more than likely, will never actually materialize. That's not to say that growing money isn't a goal - but rather that life is hard and there isn't a simple answer. Edited by Buckeye623 10-02-2015 15:35 Edited by Buckeye623 10-02-2015 15:37 |

Brezzette, If I worked at U-Play I wouldn't be discussing this subject, I'd be working to resolve it. But I think you already know this by the fact you refer to me as 'noob'. I don't understand what you mean by suggesting I know many things. All that I know of Striker Manager, or any game for that, is what I observe. Oh, and it's Jenson, not Jason.
